Why choose us?
Kurrajong North Public School is a comprehensive, secular and inclusive primary school. Like many other schools in the Hawkesbury, we are a small but mighty school. The care given to each of our 67 students goes above and beyond, and every teacher and school leader aims to build a strong positive relationship with every child in our school. Each of the 11 small schools across the Hawkesbury & Windsor networks closely collaborate and we regularly join with these schools for camps, sporting events and enrichment activities.
We value relationships - with each other, our students and our families. We work closely with parents to develop learning plans where required for both students who display high potential and those who need support. We elicit community feedback every year which we use to inform our strategic planning. Our P&C has grown and we work closely with them to both build community connections and raise funds to support student growth and learning.
Each staff member, including the principal, runs an extra-curricular activity (often two). Our school offers programs in choir, dance, green team (environmental education), debating, technology, music and various sports. Our size means that students have more opportunities to be part of these programs as we are able to include and develop every child that shows interest - we don't require selection processes, so no one misses out.
We are proud of the fact that our students who have moved on to Colo High School (CHS) in the last few years are regularly over-represented in the CHS Annual Awards - we set our students up for success.
Bilpin Coaches provide a bus service for our school that pick up our students from their front door and drop them back there in the afternoon. This is a highly personalised service that ensures student safety and convenience for parents. For families with two working parents, we utilise McMahon's Park OOSH for out-of-hours care. From this service, a bus drops students to our school in the morning and picks them up in the afternoon. Transport to and from our school couldn't be easier.
Our school is located in a highly unique position overlooking the entire Sydney basin. Our school is full of lizards and bird life, and it is not uncommon for koalas to be seen snoozing in our trees. Caring for our environment forms a key part of our ethos and one way students learn responsibility and citizenship.
If you have any questions about what it means and feels like to be a KNPS student or parent, give us a call. Mr Davies will happily show you around our school (including introducing you to our chickens and guinea pigs) and answer any questions you may have.
